Plans for Italian to replace Indian restaurant

DSCN1763

An Indian restaurant which closed two weeks ago is set to be converted into an Italian restaurant.

Swadesh ceased trading at 26-28 Green Lane on Sunday 14th February. Subsequently Cibo Restaurant has submitted plans to create a new external dining area which can be used all year round.

The outside of the restaurant, which was previously used as an al- fresco dining area, is currently decked and covered by awnings. The proposal is to remove the existing awnings and replace them with a canopy roof system, part of which would be retractable on warm weather days. This would enable the area to be used throughout the year, as a fully covered, external dining area - similar to the one erected outside Gusto in Alderley Edge last year.

Cibo Restaurant intends to be open from midday until 11pm seven days a week.

The planning application can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for planning reference 16/0880M. The last date for submitting comments is 23rd March and a decision is expected by 20th April.

They have also applied to erect replacement and additional signage, planning reference 16/0882M.

We have to wait until April for the Council decision. Fingers crossed if its past to add to all the other Italian eateries. In view of the surrounding competition~ it had better be good.

Judging by the reviews of the Didsbury Cibo which has now closed, it will not last very long.
