The Wilmslow Branch of the British Heart Foundation celebrated the charity's national day of Wear It Beat It (Wear Red and Beat Cardiac Disease) with its now traditional coffee morning.

Brian Stanford-Smith said "Over fifty attended to drink coffee, eat cakes and join in solving the puzzles and entering the raffle. The raffle had over twenty prizes and the quizzes were on hidden towns and cryptic cars."

Entrance fees, raffle tickets and donations took the amount raised to £396.

Brian added "The British Heart Foundation runs Wear It Beat It day every February to attract funds and draw attention to the scourge of heart disease. On an average day 480 people will go to hospital because of a heart attack and 640 will go to hospital due to a stroke."
