What a sickener! After a long battle we got Hawthorn Lane resurfaced, because it had resembled a 1st WW battlefield for years. Now the great forward blue sky thinkers have done it again. Good idea said some committee meeting. "Lets dig it all up and stick some pipes in" The lane has already had major surgery at the Kennerleys lane junction courtesy of British Telecom. But when it gets repaired after this latest mess, they MAY actually clean out the grids (or gulleys in council speak) that have been totally blocked for years. Last time I asked a councillor for action on this three years ago, he stated they could not do it just yet as the gulley cleaning vehicle had been in a crash. Obviously its not fixed yet. You can't make it up!
