Local restaurant brings Christmas cheer to Downing Street

Tatton MP George Osborne invited a Wilmslow restaurant to the annual Downing Street Christmas Market, hosted this year in the famous Drum courtyard at HM Treasury.

The Stolen Lamb team provided the catering for the whole event, held on the eve of the UK's third Small Business Saturday - aimed at promoting small businesses across the country and encouraging communities to shop locally.

George Yiannis of the Stolen Lamb said: "I was cooking in Downing Street using ingredients from my local Cheshire Suppliers, most of which are small businesses specialising in niche products. Small Business Saturday promotes these businesses and it's a pleasure to be involved in the event."

Tatton MP and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said: "Local restaurants like The Stolen Lamb are the heartbeat of our economy and central to the long-term economic plan. I will continue to champion Cheshire businesses, big and small, as our county punches well above its weight with home-grown talent."
