Wilmslow honours the fallen on Remembrance Sunday

Wilmslow marked Remembrance Day this morning as crowds gathered to watch the parade pass through the town centre followed by a service to remember those who fought and sacrificed their lives while serving for their country.

Led by the Alderley District Scout Band, the parade set off from the British Legion Club and made its way down to St Bartholomew's Church.

Under the control of Parade Marshall Chris McMurdock, members of The Royal British Legion, local councillors, police officers, army cadets, air cadets, scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies and rainbows marched down Grove Street and Church Street.

Following the remembrance service, a two minute silence and the laying of wreaths took place at the War Memorial on Chancel Lane. The parade then marched back to the British Legion, stopping on Grove Street where the Salute was taken.
