Local businesses and groups are being urged to contribute to the 2015 Wilmslow Christmas Tree Festival, the theme of which will be Christmas carols and festive songs.

Always a popular festive event, this year it will be held at Wilmslow Methodist Church on the weekend of December 4th to December 6th, culminating in a carol service on the Sunday evening at 7.30pm.

Gwyneth Holt said "This year we have invited groups and businesses in the local community to creatively present a chosen carol or festive song in any way they like, be it floral display, a decorated Christmas tree, something edible or even a model, so the church can come alive with the spirit of Christmas favourites.

"Alongside the displays, there will be a treasure hunt for children, and opportunities to pause and reflect what the festival of Christmas means to each of us."

Gwyneth added "Refreshments will be served throughout the weekend so you can take a minute out of the rush and bustle to rest your feet and soak up the festive atmosphere."

The Wilmslow Christmas Festival will be open from 2 to 6pm on Friday 4th December, 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 2pm to 5pm on the Sunday with the carol sing at 7.30pm. Entrance is free.
