Fire station to open its doors to the public

Wilmslow Community Fire Station is holding an open day with demonstrations, kitchen safety unit and a vintage appliance amongst other specialist vehicles.

From 10am to 4pm on Sunday, 27th September, there will be a range of family activities at the station on Altrincham Road.

The event will include an operational demonstration from firefighter's for visitors to watch and they will be joined on the day by other community groups such as the Police, Ambulance Service and the RSPCA. There will also be refreshments available to buy including ice cream and a Fire Service charity stall selling toys for the children.

Modern and vintage appliances will be on display as well as the equipment carried on modern day fire engines.

Delta Watch Manager Kevin Grace said: "This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station. We would like as many people as possible to come along to our open day, have a great time and leave with some vital fire and road safety messages."
