Plans for new pizza restaurant pulled

A company which was preparing to open a restaurant in Wilmslow town centre has confirmed they are not going ahead with the plans.

The people behind the Laundrette, which opened in Chorlton in August 2014, were intending to open a second branch at 52, Parsonage Green. The pizza restaurant was set to open in the premises previously occupied by Bar Sport, which has been empty since it was repossessed on behalf of the landlord in May 2014.

Laundrette announced on Twitter "It's with huge regret that we are giving up on this site Having tried for 2 years and spent thousands in the process. We will keep looking."

Planning permission was granted in May for an external deck at the front of the property, adding timber cladding to the facade and a fixed weather awning. The restaurant was expected to create ten full-time and eight part-time jobs.

That's a shame. I was looking forward to it opening.

Told you this weeks ago. The site is an eyesore. Perhaps the Tarantino brothers have a plan!
