Fulshaw Women's Institute have created a centenary garden to mark the 100th Anniversary of the WI.

The WI, in collaboration with Incredible Edible Wilmslow, have created a new garden at the corner of Moor Lane and Arlington Way to mark the formation of the National Federation of Women's Institutes in the UK one hundred years ago.

On Wednesday 16th September they will be holding a short informal ceremony during which a tree will be planted to celebrate the 100th anniversary.

Wendy Morris, President of Fulshaw Women's Institute, said "We are fully aware that the creation of this Garden in collaboration with Incredible Edible Wilmslow also involved a considerable number of other people and we would like to express our sincere thanks to all of those people who gave their time to support its realisation.

"The Garden has been extremely well received by local residents and we are sure it will continue to provide pleasure for many years to come. Our members are committed to the local community and feel that this is a fabulous way to celebrate."
