Despite hours of torrential rain, the crowds came out to support the Handforth Paddock Fair, enjoying a variety of activities which included Punch and Judy shows, train rides, owls, pony rides, live entertaiment and a guest appearance from the Frozen princesses, which went down like a storm!
The Mayor of Cheshire East, Councillor Hilda Gaddum, attended the event visiting the community stalls where she sampled and purchased some local produce.
The Friends of Stanley Hall Park were showcasing their park plans, which provided an opportunity to gather local residents feedback, whilst the Handforth Community War Memorial Foundation sold out of cakes to aid their fundraising.
Kerry Burgess said "The event is about promoting community spirit, showcasing local talent and reminding people that local businesses and community organisations are the heartbeat of our towns. It is thanks to Orbit Developments who let us host these type of events free of charge at The Paddock."
The Handforth Paddock Fair returns on Saturday, 8th August, with about 30 community and artisan stalls, free attractions including the Punch and Judy shows, appearances from Frozen characters, a science display from mini Stockport professors, owls, free guitar taster sessions and vintage ice-cream.
