Animal loving cyclists take on 100-mile charity ride

Ride 100

A team of animal lovers from local charity Support Adoption For Pets will be tackling a gruelling 100 mile bike race from London to Surrey, to raise money for the grant giving organisation.

The team of 11 keen cyclists will take part in the Prudential 'Ride 100' event on Sunday, 2nd August, starting in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and taking on leg-testing climbs into the Surrey countryside - a route made famous at the London 2012 Olympics.

Support Adoption For Pets Trustee, Daniel Cornwell, a self confessed cycling obsessive who is no stranger to a charity event or two said: "I have been a Trustee for Support Adoption For Pets for around 14 months and I have see first hand the great work the charity does. I believe passionately that every animal has the right to a loving home so I'm excited to be part of the charity's fundraising efforts."

Amy Wilson, Charity Manager, at Support Adoption For Pets, said: "We are always looking for new ways to fundraise, and as we have so many colleagues and supporters who are keen cyclists, so the Bike 100 event seemed perfect. We wish all of our riders the best of luck."

Handforth based Support Adoption For Pets is an independent charity established in 2006, since then it has helped over 920 re-homing centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK.
