A rabbit has survived a 14 mile journey and speeds up to 70mph after being stuck in the front grille of a car for 36 hours.

Sarah Walters was driving her BMW Z4 through Over Peover at 7am yesterday morning when a rabbit jumped out in front of her car.

Travelling at 40mph she was unable to stop, so just released the accelerator. Having looked in her rear view mirror and checked under her car when she stopped there was no sign of the rabbit so Sarah presumed she had missed it.

However, the following day her neighbour knocked on the door asking if she had a rabbit as there was one caught in the grill of her car.

Sarah said "I thought he meant splat, but no it was hopping around in there!"

With the help of her neighbour and plumber they freed the rabbit which hopped off into the woods at the top of their close, but two hours later it was in her front garden having returned for a visit.
