Loungers, the West Country based restaurant/café/bar group has opened a new site at 68 Grove Street.
Unico Lounge opened in the unit previously occupied by the Magnet kitchen showroom on Wednesday, 15th July, creating 25 jobs.
Loungers has invested £600,000 transforming the site, which it describes as "a retro home from home, where dramatic art work will sit next to oversized vintage sofas and statement light fittings, in the eclectic style much loved by Lounge aficionados."
The two storey venue also boasts a roof terrace at the rear which is sure to be a hit with Wilmslow diners.
To celebrate the opening of Unico Lounge, the Group has chosen to support Charlotte Taylor, a three and a half year old Wilmslow girl who has cerebral palsy. Charlotte, and her twin brother Daniel, were born 8 weeks early. Charlotte suffered a bleed to the brain that caused damage to both sides of her brain.
Charlotte is currently not able to walk unaided and faces the prospect of life in a wheelchair. Her parents are currently fundraising for an operation in the USA called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, ongoing therapy and equipment. Unico Lounge will donate 50p from every burger and 10p from every coffee sold in month one of trading to help Charlotte.
Cameron Taylor, Charlotte's father said "We're thrilled Unico Lounge has chosen to support Charlotte as part of their opening celebrations. Wilmslow residents can help us raise money whilst enjoying burgers and coffee at the same time!"
Unico Lounge aims tocater for all tastes throughout the day. Whether you're looking for a coffee, business lunch with colleagues or a lazy all-day brunch. The menu features everything from tapas and Hero Burger to Tin Pan Louie's beef chilli and mac and cheese, as well as the changing specials board. Little people are also catered for with their very own kids' menu.
