The 23rd Annual Handforth Village Show, organised by Handforth Gardening Society will take place at Honford Hall on South Acre Drive on Saturday 11th July.

Classes cover flowers, pot plants, flower arranging, vegetables, cookery, photography, painting and arts and crafts.

For the juniors (aged 12 or under) the classes are: flowers in an recycled container; a vegetable animal (using at least three vegetables); a miniature garden in a full size seed tray and four decorated cupcakes.

Staging of entries will take place from 10am to 11.15am with the judging starting at 11.30am. The show then opens to the general public from 2pm and closes after the raffle at 4pm.

Simon Poucher, Secretary of Handforth Gardening Society, said "The Handforth Village Show is a perfect opportunity for show veterans or novices to display the efforts of their hard work in the garden, kitchen or with crafts."

Refreshments and a plant sale will also be available.

If people would like to exhibit at the show, a schedule can be obtained from Woods Paper Shop, Handforth or from the Handforth Gardening Society website.

I would like to enter in the painting section, but the categories do not allow animals, birds, landscapes or buildings. There is also no provision for pencil art, I am sure if these subjects were included more people would be able to show their skills.
