Plans for new off-licence on Alderley Road

winerack

A wine, champagne and spirit retailer has applied for a premises licence for 45 Alderley Road, the former Daniel's shoe shop.

Wine Rack has applied for a licence to supply alcohol for consumption off the premises and also for consumption on the premises, but only for wine tasting.

The proposed opening hours are 8am to 11pm Monday to Sunday.

Wine Rack was established in 1987 and purchased by Conviviality Retail, who also own Bargain Booze, in August 2013. They currently have 28 Wine Rack stores across the UK.

Weird choice of location for a wine shop; in the centre of town right next to a supermarket.

With the small margin on alcohol this store will have to turn over well over a million quid a year to stand still. Good luck!!

It's about time Wilmslow had an off licence again and a broader choice than just supermarket wine!
