Successful fair raises hundreds for school and Handforth War Memorial

Wilmslow Grange held another successful summer fair on Friday, 5th June, raising over £1500.

Jules Harris, Chair of Wilmslow Grange PTA, said "The Summer Fair is our biggest fundraiser of the year, it is a huge amount of work that was made a lot easier this year by my new right arm Liz Sillitoe and a very good team of helpers and volunteers: masses of wonderful parents, all of our Governors and plenty of teaching staff. We raised approximately £1550 and all that will go right back to the children's enjoyment and towards the cost of the Christmas pantomimes."

Year 6 pupils decided to run three stalls: Play your cards right, hoopla and a charity stall which they took turns in manning and raised £250 towards the Handforth War Memorial project.

As usual, soak the teacher was a firm favourite amongst the children, especially as it was followed with the now customary water fight, with Mrs Lawson raising the most money, Mrs Warren managing the longest stint and Mr Unwin being the fastest earner.

Jules added "Kind donations to the adult tombola made it one of the biggest fundraiser of the night, beaten only by an amazing raffle, full of contributions from local businesses and parental employers, and the bar."
