The Women's Institute, which celebrates its 100th birthday in September, held its centenary Annual General Meeting at the Royal Albert Hall recently, in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, Princess Anne and Sophie, Countess of Wessex who are all WI members.

For the first time the meeting was streamed live into homes, theatres and cinemas across the country for the many members who were unable to attend in person on Thursday, 4th June.

The Fulshaw WI branch watched the live stream of the AGM at the Imperial War Museum in Manchester, along with ten other WI's from across Cheshire and Lancashire. This was one of just three sites chosen to appear on a live link up with the Royal Albert Hall and members of Fulshaw WI were delighted to be in full view.

Wendy Morris, President of Fulshaw WI, said "To be involved in this inaugural event was just fabulous. Social media has been alive with congratulations and excitement seeing us on the big screen!"

Wendy added "To have the opportunity to 'attend' virtually for many women across the country for the very first time enabled them to feel truly part of the celebrations but also allowed women no matter what their circumstances to feel fully involved. A great day for a fantastic organisation."
