The owners of an Indian restaurant on Green Lane have demolished an outdoor seating area which was erected without planning permission last month.
An officer from Cheshire East Council hand delivered a letter to Swadesh on Thursday, 28th May, instructing them to take the construction down.
Councillor Rod Menlove said "I am very pleased to see that the construction has been removed.
"Many thanks to the prompt actions of taken by Cheshire East Enforcement and the fire service."
Work on the outdoor seating area, which was made out of pallets, began on Wednesday 20th May. Soon afterwards we started to receive complaints from local residents who described it as "an eyesore", "fire hazard" and looking like a "shanty town".
Cllr Rod Menlove explained that the design was contrary to planning policy, therefore retrospective planning permission was not an option.
He added "There is a permission for decking (11/0010m) on this part of the site but a separate application needs to be made for an acceptable design."
I contacted Swadesh about their new seating area last week and was informed that I will be sent a press release, however as yet no information has been received.

It lasted 4 days before being pulled down, so could have been a dress rehearsal for next years Chelsea show.
