Annual dog show goes down a treat

Friends of the Carrs held their annual dog show "Canine Capers in the Carrs" on Sunday, 17th May.

Now in its third year the show is a very popular, fun day out for dogs and their owners. This year there were over 100 entries for the nine different categories and the dogs' agility course presented a variety of challenges to both the dogs and their owners.

Speaking about the show, Chairman Ian Baillie said "We want to encourage responsible dog ownership with an opportunity to have a lot of fun. And to show that you don't have to be a prize pedigree to be a winner."

The winners were: Stevie Jepson from Styal with Bella (Prettiest Bitch category), Louise Clark from Knutsford with Milo (Best Rescue Dog), Georgina Davies from Wilmslow with Daisy (Child's Best Friend), Sophie Thompson of Cheadle Hulme with Barkly (Performer of the Best Trick), Carolyn and Jack Bowler of Styal with Luke (Waggiest Tail), Matt Freeman of Styal with Archie (Most Handsome), Tony Foulds of Wilmslow with Troy (Golden Oldie), Hayley Pritcherd of Lacey Green with Lacey (Scruffiest Dog) and the prize for Best Overall went to Dottie, belonging to Laura and Isla Keay of Wilmslow.
