Knitting for Nepal

A local Knit & Natter Group have completed 30 sets of hats and wrist warmers which will be distributed to children in Nepal.

Wilmslow resident Brenda Drabble heard about a project being organised by the Mothers Union to support cadets from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, who will be travelling to Nepal in November 2015. They will be helping to build a school for children living high up in the mountains and whilst there they will distribute the beanie hats and wrist warmers knitted for the Mothers Union.

In light of the recent earthquake tragedies in the area, the need for help is even greater and the members of the Knit & Natter group, which meet on Wednesday mornings at Hawthorns Deli at Banks Square, intend to continue knitting for Nepal.

I have been in Hawthorn's Deli on a Wednesday morning when the Knit and Natter group is there. It is a wonderful atmosphere and members of the group span the age range.
