The 4th Handforth MayFest will be held in Meriton Road Park on Spring Bank Holiday, Monday 25th May
Friends of Meriton Road Park are proud to announce that MayFest 2015 will provide a celebration of traditional fun for all the family whilst raising money for the addition, replacement and maintenance of the leisure facilities within Meriton Road Park.
Terry Walsh, Group Safety Officer, said "The Friends of Meriton Road Park (FoMRP), who organise all such events have been established for over 10 years and now hold a 10 year premises licence for the park that enables us to hold licensable activities within the park for the purposes described.
"The FoMRP work very closely with Cheshire East Council as the approved local community volunteer group, providing year round support to the park in all matters from general housekeeping, litter, etc in addition to working towards a five year agreed development plan with Cheshire East Council and the arms length park services company ANSA, to raise the park to the Cheshire East desired Green Flag standard."
He added "This will need significant funding to achieve, with not all of the funding coming from council and therefore some self-help being required. The FoMRP intend to assist with raising the park to the standard required for the benefit of the Handforth community."
Attractions will include junior go-karts, swing boats, bouncy castle, giant slide and much more. There will also be stalls, a tombola and lots of good old fashioned fun!
Visitors will be entertained with live music from Loose Change Buskers along with performances from other local artists. Refreshments will also be available from a good selection of food vendors and a licensed bar
Handforth MayFest 2015 will be held on Monday 25th May 2015 from 11am until 5pm and the event will be officially opened by Alderman Barry Burkhill. Free parking will be available all day courtesy of Emerson Holdings.
