Ruth McNulty is one of four Conservative candidate for the Wilmslow East Ward for Wilmslow Town Council and has been a town councillor since 2011. Ruth ccurrently chairs the Community and Order Committee and the Employment Committee. Before retirement Ruth worked for the Boots Company as a buyer and at CWS in buying, marketing and general management roles. She also worked for RHM in a technical capacity and for KPMG in their business consultancy. Ruth and her late husband founded and developed an industrial printing business, which they sold to one of their customers ten years ago.

Speaking about why she has decided to stand for re-election Ruth told me 'Town Councillors have worked as a team to deliver a number of very real improvements to the town. Whereas I can claim the original initiative for the Job Club, the Spring Clean and the SK9 Youth Group among others, it has been the collaborative efforts of all of us to support and develop these ideas into a practical reality.

"My enthusiasms have taken me towards a significant improvement in the planting schemes around the town and to developments at the railway station. I am currently an active member of the Business Group and the Chair of In Bloom and we are working hard to repeat last year's Gold Award."

Ruth added "I have lived in Wilmslow for over thirty years and have seen many changes during that time. A vote for me is a vote for a resident with the background, knowledge and imagination to press for improvements which enhance our town and the lives of its residents."

I would nominate Ruth as one of the hardest working member of WTC. Her drive to get projects done and her ability to unite groups, and her extensive contact list gained from many years in business here, makes her a valuable asset to WTC.
It is people like Ruth, who did not blink at helping to renovate benches on Lindow Common or help clean up Grove Street for our RHS entry, who will make all the difference to a Town Council. It's been a pleasure working with you Ruth.

I would just like to echo Ellie's comments above. It is hard to imagine somebody more committed to local service and determined to improve the environment in which we live. I know that Ruth has been instrumental in a number of Wilmslow's proudest achievements and I'm sure that, if re-elected, she will continue to work hard on behalf of all Wilmslow residents.
