Styal and Chorley launch In Bloom bid

The Parish of Chorley

The villages of Chorley and Styal are entering the North West In Bloom competition, alongside Wilmslow this year.

Helen Yates of Wilmslow In Bloom said "The entries have been posted and plans are being made to transform public spaces with attractive planting to enhance the already picturesque villages.

"Businesses play a major part in supporting the planting and so all three groups are keen to encourage them to get involved by dressing their premises with a display.

"Residents too can help enormously by having pleasant house fronts or by volunteering to help pick litter or garden on public land."

Chorley will be entered into the Village category, Styal the Large Village category and Wilmslow will be entered into the Large Town category so they will not be competing against one another but working together to help support eachother's entry and improve the area overall.
