Residents call for drug activity on local estates to be addressed

Drug use, dealing and growing at Lacey Green, Colshaw Farm and Spath Lane estates has been raised as a concern for local residents.

Wilmslow Police are looking at gathering information and taking action on any information they receive.

Sgt Andy Miller said "We still require further intelligence to help build up a better picture of the issues in respect of areas and people involved in the taking, cultivating and dealing drugs.

"We encourage anyone that has any information and or concerns about drugs to contact us and remind those that do that this can be done anonymously."

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

In 2007, Tony B Liar said Tough on crime and the causes of crime. Maybe the Police and other agencies involved should look at the cause of this crime. Maybe it has something to do with poor levels of education, low employment and poor lifestyle.
The Police are only interested in arrest figures and not the cause of this ASB.

Isn't that ignorant of you to assume the people that live on the estates in Wilmslow are uneducated, & have a poor lifestyle!

Hayley - I don't think Andrew singled out people who live on estates.
It would be useful to understand who or which organisation has raised this concern as it is not clear in the article. Is it anecdotal or backed up by any statistics?

Wolverton Drive, Kingsbury Drive and Alveston Drive on the south side of Dean Row Road are on an estate, please don't single out Socal Housing estates !
