Caterers take charge of their local pub

A local couple are set to take over as landlords of a Wilmslow pub where they have been providing the food for the past three years.

Jason and Valerie Kilby will be taking over at the Rifleman's Arms on Moor Lane on Saturday, 28th February, where they intend to offer a gastro dining experience whilst still serving traditional pub favourites.

Jason Kilby started his outside catering company Kilby Creative Caterers three years ago, which was established to offer private parties and business catering to the Cheshire area. Whilst Valerie has worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years having gained most of her experience at the Ramada Guildford Hotel in Surrey.

Valerie told wilmslow.co.uk "We believe that there is a real need in Wilmslow for a traditional, locally sourced pub offering fresh, vibrant, quality food at value for money prices. The Rifleman's Arms matches our personal and professional ambitions for the area to support local businesses through using their produce and also establishing the venue as a platform for young people to perform and showcase their talent also to enhance the dining experience at the weekends.

"By providing local residents and businesses with great food, beer and wine, matched with regular events and entertainment, our aim is to establish the Rifleman's Arms as a leading local pub within Cheshire."

Valerie continued "Jason already has an impressive and extensive record of transforming 4 and 5 star hotel's, golf clubs and pubs nationwide into impressive dining experiences enhancing their reputation. The opportunity to take over the pub will enable us to promote the pub and the outside catering services we offer."

The new Rifleman's Arms will be holding an open evening on Saturday 7th March where guests will be offered a complimentary drink upon arrival, invited to try samples from the new menu and enjoy live music from local talented singers.
