food&drink

Wilmslow is to host its first ever Food and Drink Week in March, to celebrate everything to do with eating and drinking that is on offer in our town.

The events team at Wilmslow Business Group is putting together a programme to encourage residents and visitors alike to discover and enjoy the range of food and drink outlets that are available in Wilmslow, from restaurants, pubs and bars, to cafes, takeaways and sandwich shops.

A variety of food-related events will be on offer throughout the week including cake decorating demos, wine tastings, cookery demonstrations, foraging walks, cookery book signings as well as pie and beer tastings.

Georgie Johnson, Events Manager at Wilmslow Business Group, said "Food establishments have been approached to make an offer to customers - a discount, a two for one or something value-added. These will be also form part of the programme and will be available throughout the week of 16-21 March."

The week will culminate in the Artisan Market on Saturday 21st March with additional food related stalls showcasing culinary skills from learning how to fillet a fish to decorating cupcakes.

Georgie added "We hope that this celebration of all that is foodie in Wilmslow will open people's eyes to the wealth of options open to them."

All the plans are currently being pulled together with the intention of distributing the programme by the end of February.
