Sports club plans for new club house

Croftside Tennis Club has applied for planning permission for a new club house at their Meadow Way site, as the current one is unfit for purpose.

The proposal is to demolish the existing timber club house and construct a new modular building, which will be located in the same area.

Following feedback from members and community partners, the club has identified an urgent need to upgrade the club house facilities to ensure their membership is not depleted.

At present the club house lacks decent toilet and changing facilities, is inaccessible to disabled people and has inadequate kitchen facilities which means they are unable to provide refreshments. The current club house is also subsiding which has resulted in the floor and roof becoming more uneven.

Due to limited funds the club has chosen a modular building with some bespoke ad-ons as the solution.

The proposal is for the new club house to be open from 8am to dusk, which is the same as the existing one.

The club plans to hold an open day to invite local residents to view the proposals.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Council website by searching for plannign reference 14/4442M. The last date for submitting comments is 5th January 2015  and a decision is expected by 21st January 2015.
