As part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of World War 1, a lectern has been installed at the site of the former prisoner of war camp in Handforth.

The notice board, located on the corner of Welland Road and Dean Row, contains information collated by Councillor Anthony Harrison, local residents and Wilmslow Historical Society.

Councillor Anthony Harrison said "I am pleased that the lectern has finally been installed. Already the feedback I have received from residents has all been extremely positive. I hope all residents of both Handforth and Wilmslow enjoy reading about the site as it was throughout the first World War."

Handforth Parish Council provided £1000 to cover the costs for the installation of the lectern which was carried out by handyman Dan Thompson and Cllr Harrison on Wednesday, 19th November.
