This year, for the first time, Wilmslow Business Group is organising a Santa Dash through the Carrs on Saturday 29th November.
The event, taking place at 2pm ahead of Wilmslow Town Council's Reindeer Parade and Christmas Lights Switch On, will see up to 250 Santas dashing through the park.
Bethan Phillips said "This is a fun event with adults and children welcome to take part. You can run, jog, walk, dance or jingle your way around the 3.5km course. Santa suits will be provided for every entrant so why not enter the fun and prepare to dash."
Places are limited and by pre-registration only, so sign up online now.
The cost is £10 per adult, £5 per child (4-16) and £20 per family. A proportion of the money raised will be donated to Food Friend, the charity which helps support local people in need and for whom Christmas can be a very difficult time.
Saturday 29th November is shaping up to be the official start of the Christmas season in Wilmslow. Santa and his reindeer will be making their way through the centre of town from 3.45pm and heading down Grove Street to Bank Square where Wilmslow's Christmas lights will be switched on at 4.45pm.
This year people are being encouraged to join in the parade and light Santa's way down to Grove Street by making and carrying lanterns to follow on behind his sleigh.
Throughout December there will be events big and small taking place every day around the town, as part of Wilmslow's "Living Advent Calendar". Each day will feature a festive event, from choirs singing, to craft activities and cocktail making classes.
