After 11 months and much debate the Wilmslow Artisan Market delivered by The Market Co finally returns to Saturday this weekend.

Alderley Service Road running from Sainsburys to Multi York will be transformed into a bustling, vibrant market place with the very best artisan traders offering a wide range of delectable goodies.

The Market Co hopes that visitors will enjoy the new location and the return to Saturday when people can partake in all that Wilmslow has to offer, not only the Artisan Market but also the fabulous array of local stores and businesses.
The markets original aim was to entice people back into our wonderful town to highlight all that is available every day of the week. We hope that our visitors will take the time to frequent and support our local shops as well as enjoying the market.

For retailers across the town, The Market Co has devised a new initiative, which will hopefully encourage shoppers to explore the town as a whole and venture into their premises. The 'Market Money' scheme provides shop owners with money off coupons that they can issue to their customers as an added bonus for shopping with them. Lucky customers can then use their coupons to spend as currency on the market.

The first two retailers to take part in this new scheme are Hawthorns Deli and The Goal Post on Bank Square, who will be giving away vouchers for this Saturday's market. Please pop in to their stores – it could be YOU!
The Market Co is also keen to hear from other retailers who would like to get involved over future months.

Wilmslow High School have also been keen to support our return to Saturday and have very kindly offered FREE parking to our visitors after 1pm on their school grounds. Access from A34 only.

The Market Co is very excited about delivering this event back on Saturday as per the wishes of so many townsfolk. We hope the people of Wilmslow and our visitors will come along and support the event and help restore it to its former glory.

We are so pleased to see the market back on Saturday! Although I feel Grove Street was an ideal place to hold the market, I really do hope people come out to support such a great event. Denise and others have worked so hard to make this work, and the voucher scheme is just one way to encourage shoppers to come into town. We are hoping Wilmslow are buzzing with people, enjoying what a great town Wilmslow is and how lucky we are to have such talented stall holders as well as wonderful shops on our doorstep.

Wilmslow High School has kindly offered their car park!!!! Words fail me. Who funds the school? The school management would do well to remember just who pays their wages.

ok 2 posts 2 views 3rd post with another view ... I/we live in Alderley Edge ,educated and played in Wilmslow and now keep bees in and around . Since the market started people have attended and spent time in Wilmslow. Some people have moaned and complained and given it a rough ride.Tomorrow the market starts afresh for all of us . We have a stall as do other local businesses . We have customers who come to buy our honey etc from all over the area .Whilst they are there they spend time and money in our home town . All i ask is could everyone please give Denise, Peter (The Market co) a fair chance of delivering what our town needs . Thank you

Agreed Mike ;)

So, we came along - it was great! Well done to the organisers, and I hope all the traders had a good day too

Love the new location. Much more 'open' and easier to see / get to the stalls.

Hope you get the support you need to continue.

Have to say that the new venue made the market feel that it was at the heart of the town.It was easier for people to move around and see what the various stalls had to offer, and Sainsburys got into the spirit of the event by having a stall of fruit and veg. outside.

Couldn't park in Wilmslow so had to shop elsewhere. Will avoid Wilmslow on market days even though I would rather support local shops

Well done Denise and co for Saturdays market. It was excellent! A fantastic assortment of stalls offering excellent products at reasonable prices. It really brought our end of town to life and we had a great day. As manager of Johnsons dry cleaners on Alderley Rd, I did wonder if the event would have a slight detriment to business considering the loss of parking spaces available to our customers who may struggle to carry heavy/bulky items to their cars. This proved unfounded and I can honesty say, having spoken with our customers, the hundreds of spaces available at the rear of the building were more than adequate and all of our customers just loved the vibrancy and atmosphere that the market created! The products on offer were exceptional, I popped out with my assistant manager to buy a cupcake... We returned to branch with several carrier bags and £100 lighter... And we particularly enjoyed our lunch from the prestbury farm shop stall! I hope that this 'pilot' was as successful for you as it was for us and we cannot wait until next time.
