Staff injured during armed robbery at airport parking facility

Staff at an airport parking facility on Styal Road, Styal were threatened and assaulted during an armed robbery in the early hours of this morning, Friday 10th October.

A group of men wearing balaclavas and armed with metal bars entered the business premises around 1:20am.

After assaulting the staff they stole a quantity of cash and a number of the offenders made their escape using a car stolen from the parking facility.

Two staff members were taken to hospital with minor head injuries and were later discharged.

DS Anthony King, said: "This is a serious crime which has traumatised the staff who were only carrying out their job. Everyone has a right to go to go about their daily business without fear and we need to apprehend the people responsible quickly.

"We are currently making enquiries at the scene and appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Styal Road or who saw a bronze-coloured Honda Civic to contact us."

Police are appealing for any information in relation to the incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 35 of 10/10/2014, or anonymously to Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
