Raising a cup for World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Coffee and cakes were in high supply at the Wilmslow office of James Maguire & Co to support a very worthwhile cause on Friday, 26th September.

The Family Law Solicitors joined in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning and raised over £255 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Katie Dillon, Solicitor said "We want to do our bit to help to raise as much money as possible so that Macmillan can continue their fantastic work across the country but particularly in the local area."

James Maguire & Co were overwhelmed with cake donations and delighted with the turn out and support from the local community. Leftovers were very gratefully received by The Hawthorns care home, Wilmslow.

Local business people also joined Exceptional Solutions in the REX Building where they raised nearly £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support and organised a 'Beat It' wall where people added the name of someone special affected by cancer. Nearby, Multiyork also invited people to join them for coffee and cake raising £40.

A very successful coffee morning was held at Wilmslow View, Handforth, by members of the Spath Lane Residents Association, on Friday 26th September, where they raised a grand total of £256 for the Macmillan nurses. This was possible by the generous donations of local businesses and residents who generously donated cakes.

Chris Samson said "Thank you to every one who helped to make it a success and a big big thank you to all who attended the event."

Gabby Lamplugh, 37 of Moor Lane, hosted a coffee morning at the Rifleman's Pub on Moor Lane which was attended by over 100 people and raised an impressive £1046.

Whilst Weight Watcher held a fantastic event at St Benedicts Church Hall Handforth and raised £317 for MacMillan.

June Bailey said "We had a raffle, plus a free Weight Watcher class for everyone who came plus a free aerobic class after for anyone who wanted to take part in Jackie's Fit for Life group. Thank you to everyone who supplied cakes even the gin and tonic cake."
