Wilmslow Prep celebrates 105 years

Wilmslow Prep School celebrated its 105th birthday on Tuesday, September 23rd, with a fun-filled morning assembly involving the entire school.

The girls and boys carried out the tradition of giving the School cards and the special birthday assembly was rounded off with everyone singing 'Happy Birthday.' The candles were blown out by the eldest and youngest pupils then at lunch time all the pupils tucked into a delicious birthday cake, prepared by Peter Herds on Chapel Lane in Wilmslow.

Wilmslow Prep School has a rich history of education dating back to 1909, when it first opened its doors by Miss Mead and Miss Barber on Grove Street above Doodson's Butcher Shop.

Headteacher Helen Rigby, said, "The School's birthday is always a special day and the children love hearing about the history of the School, as well as taking part in the birthday celebration – especially the cake!"
