A new PCSO has taken over the Lacey Green and Styal beat this month.
PCSO Jim Newns has taken over responsibility for these areas having spent the past three and a half years working in Alderley Edge.
Jim has been a PCSO since 2006 and says he enjoys meeting people in the Wilmslow community. Jim added "I'm particularly impressed with the community spirit and willingness to get involved in the many events and organisations that operate".
He has swapped roles with Sarah Stanley who recently returned from maternity leave, having spent 7 years working in Lacey Green and Styal.
Jim described the most pressing issues in Lacey Green as being anti-social behaviour and drugs whilst in Styal he sees the biggest challenge as being speeding along Styal Road and Hollin Lane.
There are six PCSOs covering the Wilmslow area. In addition to PCSO Jim Newns in Lacey Green and Styal and Sarah Stanley focussing on Alderley Edge, Handforth is covered by Greg Bithell and Gareth Hardy, Emma Darrock covers Colshaw and Chris Hopkins works in the town centre.
