Wilmslow High School is holding a special event later this year to mark one hundred years since the outbreak of the First World War.

To commemorate this historic milestone they will be holding a community event on Saturday 8th November, in conjunction with a number of local primary schools and other organisations.

The school is appealing to the local community to get in touch if they have any items from World War One which they can borrow for the range of displays and presentations which they are putting together, which will include music, drama and art installations.

History teacher Wesley Royle said "We are appealing for any artefacts, photographs and letters from members of the local community that could be loaned on the day to form part of the exhibition. Some secure display cases will be available for more precious objects."
