Knutsford Road to close for resurfacing

A section of Knutsford Road will be closed this week to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

The B5086 will be closed from its junction with Brook Lane to its junction with Alderley Road between Wednesday 30th July and Wednesday 6th August.

It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

CEC have leafleted all residents who live on Knutsford Road and all the rods off. They did not give any information on where the recommended diversions would be. They also seemed not to have done much in the preparation for deploying signs in the Fulshaw Park area. An incident has been raised with the Highways Engineer and the Police have now asked CEC to put out more signs; they will be liaising with CEC during the predicted chaos.
The recent road closures in Mobberley and Chelford were abysmally sign-posted.

Maybe this is why there are now two travellers encampments in the Earl road area... all hands to the pump getting that tarmac laid folks!!!

Leaflets ? We live off Ashdene Road and we haven't received anything. If it wasn't for this website we wouldn't have known anything was going on. A week...is that a rolling blockage or the whole road - if the latter what are the escape routes? Given the chaos on the northbound Handforth Bypass over the last few weekends, you wonder where they will strike next.

I am sitting in my office looking out at the mini roundabout at the junction of Knutsford Road and Brook Lane.

The cacophony of car horns so far this morning, not to mention the screeching of brakes is unbelievable.

The "road closed" signs have only been up for about an hour!

If someone doesn't get hurt it will be a miracle - it's bad enough when all the roads are open with people screaming down to the mini roundabout.

The requested additional signs for the end of Fulshaw Park South on Alderley Road.... are not in place!

The 88 bus (Knutsford-Wilmslow-Altrincham has been re-routed via Brook La and Alderley Rd for duration of roadworks omitting Clumber La, Moor La & Chapel La., much to the annoyance of local passengers.

Rang the council again this morning, Brooke lane corner still closed,no work been done there. Only resurfacing as far as Walton drive. Bus could have been doingitsnormalfunforthe past week without doing a detour which the council gave them. A lot of people have not been able to go out.
