Warning over door-to-door salespeople

Following reports of a number of door-to-door salesmen operating in the area, police are urging local residents to assist by reporting incidents to them.

Sgt Andy Miller said "It has come to our attention that there are a number of peddlers or hawkers that have been attending residential addresses selling cleaning products door to door. Some of these individuals who are almost always males introduce themselves as "Ex Offenders".

"If this is the case then it is highly unlikely that these individuals will have the requisite Peddlers Licence so they should be reported to the Police and we will attend and deal with them.

"Please call 101 and provide a description of the individual and their direction of travel."

I have now put three stickers / signs on my door to stop this as we were getting at least one a week calling, there are only so many over priced feather dusters you can buy. Some of them still knock but I just point to the sign and say no thanks. I got some window and door stickers from Cheshire East Council.
