New gifts and interiors store is a family affair

A store selling women's clothing, accessories and home interiors is preparing to open in Wilmslow town centre.

The Hidden Jem will offer an eclectic mix of ladies clothing, accessories, gifts and home decor, including their own range of quilted bedspreads and bedlinen. It will also sell French furniture, lighting, chandeliers, candles, jewellery, bags, and shoes.

The Alderley Road shop will be the third store for the family run business which was founded by Julie and Dan Moores, who were originally from Manchester but now live on the coast at Lytham where they opened their first shop about 8 years ago. Their second store in Knutsford has just celebrated its 5th birthday.

The Hidden Jem is a real family affair with daughter Rachael and son David both working at the business and Dan will be running the new Wilmslow branch when it opens on Thursday August 7th.

Rachael told wilmslow.co.uk "We visited Wilmslow a month ago, saw the unit was empty and just fell in love with the area. We think our range of items will really suit the area."

The Hidden Jem will be located at 4-6 Alderley Road in the building previously occupied by Simon Dunn chocolatiers.

Sounds intriguing! Bit of an eclectic mix, but at the right price, rather than "Wilmslow prices", they should do well. When do they open?

Better than what we thought was going into that unit! But Steph is right, please please not overpriced things ordinary Wilmslow residents can't afford!

Welcome to Wilmslow! I like the Knutsford shop and their serendipity style looks right for Wilmslow.

Wish good success to this new local enterprise & hope these new occupiers of the long time vacant premises definitely wont end up being Dunn for!
