Hundreds of people gathered with their friends and family in the town park this afternoon to enjoy the glorious weather and a free community event, organised and funded by Wilmslow Town Council.
Crowds soaked up the sun as they were entertained at Party on the Carrs with lots of live music, community stalls, bouncy castles and refreshments.
Local performers from all sections of the community took to the main stage, including After Hours, The Oakmere Singers, Wilmslow High School Voices Choir, Alderley and Wilmslow Musical Theatre Company, Fast Exit, Mainstage Experience and The Slinky Band.
Whilst over in the Parade Ring Wilmslow High School Steel Band, Cheshire Constabulary Corps of Drums and Dance Fever provided the entertainment.
Local groups and community organisations took the opportunity to promote themselves and raise funds for their causes including Wilmslow Lions Club, Friends of the Carrs, Wilmslow Animal Sanctuary, Wilmslow Branch of the Royal British Legion, East Cheshire Hospice and the SK9 Young People's Fund.
Cllr Martin Watkins, Chairman of Wilmslow Town Council, said "The success and popularity of the Party last year and Jubilee celebration the year before convinced the Town Council that this free community led event represented excellent value to the people of Wilmslow.
"The objectives for this year were to provide people with some great entertainment and food whilst celebrating the talent of local performers from right across the age and experience spectrum."
Cllr Watkins added "I would like to thanks the Community & Order Committee for initiating the event and all the helpers who brought the event together including the array of community groups represented at the event today."
