Thursday, 15th Jun, 2017 4:00pm til 5:00pm

Featured Event - Alderley Edge School for Girls is hosting a free E-Safety training session for students and also parents, friends and members of the public. The session will be delivered by E-Safety expert, Karl Hopwood and is also open to staff, parents and pupils from other schools in our area.

The information session will take place from 5.00pm – 6.00pm at AESG in the Performing Arts Hall.

Karl Hopwood is a member of UKCCIS (UK Council for Child Internet Safety) and sits on the UKCCIS evidence group as well as on the advisory board for the UK Safer Internet Centre and the education advisory board for CEOP. Additionally, he represents the Insafe network on Twitter's trust and safety council.

Karl has worked for a number of key players in the UK and abroad including CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre), BECTA (British Educational and Communications Technology Agency), the European Commission, the UN and several Local Authorities within the UK and in Europe.

As an ex primary Headteacher, Karl continues to work closely with schools across Europe with children, young people, parents and teachers to develop safer online behaviour and to promote digital literacy.

We feel this will be an invaluable session for the community to gain an insight into the world of online safety; to ensure that you and your family members are kept safe online.
