Spring Music Festival

As part of the launch for the appeal to raise funds to rebuild the organ in St Bart's they are putting on a weekend of events to celebrate the rich and varied musical life of the parish.

Saturday 25th April 2015 at 7.30pm – The Kinder Youth Choir

Since their formation in 1991 the Kinder Children's Choirs have established themselves as one of the UK's foremost children's choral organisations.

Sunday 26th April 2015 at 3.00pm – Project Jam Sandwich

A dynamic quintet of award-winning musicians, Project Jam Sandwich jam up a storm of fusion folk explosion from around the world. "Exciting, vibrant and bursting with ideas and musical excellence it is always a pure joy to watch them perform." Simone Rebello, Head of Percussion, RNCM

Sunday 26th April 2015 at 9pm – Jazz in the Evening

To round off the weekend in a relaxed way we have four very talented professional musicians playing some informal and light hearted jazz. Fronted by the brilliant violinist Julian Gregory (a classical violinist with the BBC Philharmonic who just happens also to be a brilliant jazz player) this quartet should wrap up the weekend in style.

Admission to these events is by ticket from the parish office priced as follows: Adults £12 Concessions £10 Students £5.

"Artful Half Hours"

Saturday 25th April between 10am and 2pm

10.15: Dolby and Hughes (piano duets)

Another scintillating slice of piano magic from our dynamic duo.

11.00: Steven Callow (Organ)

An opportunity to hear the accomplished organist of St.Anne's in concert.

11.45: Jennifer Parker (Mezzo-Soprano)

The talented Jennifer Parker makes a welcome return to St.Bart's with a programme featuring Ravel's much loved "Shéhérazade". Accompanied by Philip Underwood.

12.30pm: Styal Brass

Styal Brass is a voluntary run brass ensemble consisting of children from the ages of 9 upwards who attend local schools in Wilmslow, Styal and the surrounding area. They regularly perform under the musical direction of Chris Gasson.

1.15pm: Audio Visual Presentation of Vivaldi's 4 Seasons

St.Bart's resident organist, Philip Underwood performs his own transcriptions of Vivaldi's ever popular "4 Seasons" to accompany a slide showing of seasonal images by St.Bart's photographer Stuart Martin.

Admission to each of these events £3 on the door only.

All proceeds from the festival will go towards the Oscar the Organ Appeal.
