1   Strada

I have eaten several times at this restaurant, lunch and evening, and the food has been really tasty and well cooked. However, the service has been appalling every time. My friends and family say the same thing. They just don't seem to have enough staff and the staff that are there are not properly trained.

The place needs a proper manager to organise the staff and then the place could really be very successful.

2   Not the best for the area

I live in Wilmslow and I expect more from such a big chain.

The food is OK. the olives are rancid, the wine list is fine. The service needs improving dramatically.

I have found its not the level of competence that is the problem I think they have been under staffed when I have gone. I have gone on a few occasions and I have been seen standing at the door and just ignored. This is always the sign of bad service, as it happens on these two occasions I walked out after 5 mins and being seen 4 or 5 times and I have not been back since.

4   Great lunch

Nice warm reception and a free bottle of water. Had the lunch special, chicken and roasters to die for. The glass of wine that came with the meal was also enjoyable.

1   Disappointed

After sampling a pizza at this local chain I don't think I'll eat there again. The base of it was very hard and thin not a patch on pizza express. It felt like I was eating stale bread. The drinks were ok.

5   Relaxing environment

I love this restaurant. I've been several times, and we have always had really attentive service and great food in a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

Strada may be a chain, but this is Italian food done well (in my opinion anyway). It's not just your generic cannelloni and pizzas - it has a broad and interesting menu which always leaves me thinking "hmm, must try that one next time..."

It doesn't have the usual noisy clatter of an Italian restaurant (although I confess I usually go at quiet times). If you like it calm and relaxed, with good food and attentive service, then give it a try.
