Alderley Autos Taxi Service

1   Stranded in Wilmslow with 4 children on 6th Dec 2011

I ordered a taxi just after 4pm this evening to take my 4 young children and I from Pepperberry's Day Nursery on Hawthorne Street in Wilmslow to our home in Alderley Edge.

I was told by the operator 'oh yes, I know where that is' and was told a taxi for 5 would be sent straight away. At 4.45pm I called them to see what was taking so long.

I was told that the taxi was sent to the nursery on Hawthorne Lane opposite the post office and another taxi would be sent straight away.

At 5pm I called them again to ask what was taking so long. I was told that they were having a problem finding the address.

The taxi arrived shortly after and the taxi driver didn't apologise or engage in any conversation except to ask where we were going and when we got to my road, where my house was located on the street.

By the time we arrived home an hour had passed, my children (youngest being 3 years old) were tired and hungry and I had not had an apology for the delays.

When I was told how much the taxi would cost I explained calmly that I was reluctantly paying and that I was unhappy with the service, particularly having to wait an hour for a taxi with 4 young children, that I would not use their service again and I would be contacting the council.

There was no apology or any acknowledgement of my complaint...it was almost like it didn't matter - clearly Alderley Autos Taxi's have far too many customers to bother with silly things like customer service or operating a reliable service.

I do not recommend that anyone uses this company unless they have all the time in the world and like paying for substandard service.
